Mr. Eric Neuman teaches 6T Social Studies and English Language Arts (ELA) in Room 105. He has taught 6th grade at BJHS since 2014. He earned his B.A. in history from the University of IL at Chicago, his teaching certificate from Northern IL University, his Masters in Reading from Illinois State University, and his Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Olivet Nazarene University. He currently lives in Bloomington with his dog Brutus and snake Mataba. He enjoys reading, playing board games, playing video games, and watching movies.
Mataba is our 6T pet and is a male Ball Python. He is around 20 years old and enjoys eating mice and not blinking. He resides in Room 105.
Mrs. JoLynn Plato teaches 6T Math and Science in Room 107. The 2019-20 school year marks the beginning of Mrs. Plato's twenty-ninth year of teaching, and her twentieth year in Bloomington Public School District 87.
Mrs. Plato was born and raised the youngest of eight children in Reading, PA. Her teaching career includes:

-Middle Level Teacher (many areas), Blessed Sacrament School, Springfield, IL
-Seventh Grade ELA Teacher, Franklin Middle School, Springfield, IL
-Sixth/Seventh Grade Teacher and Math Department Chair, Bloomington Junior High School, Bloomington, IL
-Fourth Grade Teacher, Irving Elementary, Bloomington, IL
-IT Instructor, Bloomington Junior High School, Bloomington, IL
Mrs. Plato earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education with a minor in Mathematics from Blackburn College in Carlinville, IL, in 1991. Her first Master of Education degree was earned from UIUC in Curriculum, Technology, and Education Reform in 2000. Her second Master of Education degree specializing in Educational Administration was earned through Concordia University Chicago in 2013. Mrs. Plato is a National Board Certified Teacher, and is currently working on her Doctorate at Illinois State University.
Mrs. Plato has been married to Mr. Scott Plato for twenty-seven years. They have two great boys, Ignatius and Max, and a Yorkie puppy named Boo.
